What is the FXP protocol good for?
FXP (Foreign Exchange Protocol) is used for direct inter-server data exchange. Should you e.g. need to upload your presentation from some hosting to our server and your FTP client supports FXP, just connect to your former hosting and PIPNI and start the transfer. The data is transferred directly between the two servers, the sidetrip to you and from you is eliminated. Using this technology is it possible to get the transfer finished very quickly. The client application only functions as the process coordinator.
Note: This protocol is supported by Total Commander, SmartFTP, among others
